Disability Information in Community Languages

The Victorian Government wants Victoria to be a place where people can feel they belong, regardless of culture, ability, age or gender. As part of the vision of the Victorian State Disability Plan 2002–2012, Disability Services provides supports and services that are appropriate to each person.

Supports may assist:

  • With living in your home
  • With being part of your community
  • Families and carers.

Supports include:

  • Community supports such as services from your local council or shire, community health centre or neighbourhood house
  • Specialist disability supports
  • Accommodation

The Disability Intake and Response Service can provide information about supports and services for people with a disability, their family and carers. The Intake and Response Service can also provide assistance with planning and support to people with a disability, their families and carers in their local area.

If you need to talk to someone about the supports and services available in your local area, contact your Regional Disability Intake and Response Service.

Do you need an interpreter?

Please call the Translating and Interpreting Service on 13 14 50 and ask the operator to connect you to the relevant regional Disability Intake and Response Service telephone number.
